The 1st Dietary Guidelines for Americans (DGA) were released. 1980 1995 2000 2005 2010 1414 Experts served on the 2015 Dietary Guidelines Advisory Committee (DGAC). FEB 19 The DGAC submitted its Advisory Report to the Federal Government. It contains scientific findings and rationales to help inform the USDA/HHS as they develop the DGA 2015. DAYS 75 Speak Up! 75DAYS For public comment. Submit yours HERE by May 8, 2015. Federal Agencies (USDA & HHS) jointly develop and publish the DGA after considering the DGAC Report, public comments & Federal Agency comments. 22 The USDA creates consumer friendly educational materials and tools like MyPlate & SuperTracker. Federally funded nutrition programs like SNAP, WIC, & School Lunch incorporate the new DGA. What’s Next? 20152015The USDA & HHS release the DGA 2015.
